Privacy Policy

At LOCAL COAST, we highly value our customers and their privacy. We are committed to protecting your personal information and providing you with a safe, secure online experience. We suggest that you review this privacy policy periodically as we may update it from time to time.

Our privacy policy is designed to protect the private nature of the information you provide us. When you purchase products, sign up to receive our catalog or e-mail newsletter, or register at our site, you will be providing us with personal information including your name, phone number, mailing address and e-mail address.

If you provide us with your e-mail address, you will automatically be signed up to receive our e-mail newsletter. The LOCAL COAST Newsletter includes special offers, notices of clearance and overstock items as well as company news. You may unsubscribe from the e-mail newsletter at any time. There are unsubscribing instructions located at the bottom of every e-mail newsletter that we send. We do not share or sell your e-mail address to any third parties.

On rare occasions, we may disclose specific information upon governmental request, in response to a court order, or when required by law to do so. We may also share information with companies assisting in fraud protection or investigation.

Other than our bank when processing a credit card transaction, we NEVER allow our customer names, addresses or other personal information to be available to any other organization or entity other than ourselves.

Our shopping cart requires cookies to be enabled in order to place an order with LOCALCOAST. Cookies are a technology which can be used to provide you with tailored information from a website. A cookie is an element of data that a website can send to your browser, and then store it on your system. Cookies are used to keep track of all the items in your cart. This allows you to shop, return to the store and add more items to your cart. Our cart is set to stay live for 24 hours. What this means is if you leave our store and return anytime within 24 hours the items you added to your cart will still show up. After 24 hours the cookies are deleted and you would have to start fresh. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether to accept it.

We also collect website usage data that is non-personally identifiable in nature. It simply provides us with the number and frequency of visitors, times, bandwidth, pages viewed, etc. Nothing collected can personally identify you.

We may from time to time contract with companies who use cookies or other online tools such as pixel tags to measure the performance of a marketing effort on our behalf.

We may share personal information with our service providers, including those who assist us with marketing, and with other trusted parties whom we believe offer products or services that may be of interest to you.

At LOCAL COAST, we believe that all Internet transactions should be simple, safe and secure. It is our intent to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you. We use a variety of current technologies and processes for protection of our customer data. It is our practice to use encryption whenever we receive or transmit sensitive data.

All critical information (credit card number and expiration date) is encrypted when stored and transmitted. Transmission over the Internet uses a secure socket layer connection (SSL). This information is also encrypted when stored and transmitted over our local area network (LAN). Our web site is well protected, as is our LAN.

There are several different ways to see if your web browser is in a secure mode. The best way to tell is by looking at the website address in your browser window. Non-secure pages begin with http://. Secure pages begin with https://. The "s" in https:// stands for "secure." The other way is to look at the bottom of your browser. If you see a small picture of a padlock or a key, you are in secure mode. An open padlock, broken key, or no icon at all indicates that your web browser may not be in a secure mode.

Identity thieves sometimes send fraudulent email messages to trick customers into divulging personal or financial information (a practice known as "phishing"). Many of these emails feature company logos and language. Some of these emails even go as far as showing exact copies of company website pages. These emails and websites attempt to trick people into providing personal information such as: log-on IDs, passwords, credit card numbers, bank account information, Social Security Numbers and other sensitive information.

If you have received or entered personal information in response to a suspicious email, pop-up or phony website claiming to be affiliated with LOCAL COAST, Inc. or its affiliates, please call us at need number immediately.

If you have purchased from LOCAL COAST, subscribed to our E-mail Newsletter, or requested a Clothing or Hardware catalog and you wish to opt-out of the use of your contact information, then you may do so at any time by contacting us directly:

  • ATTN: Mailing List Services
  • need P.O. BOX

Please be sure to provide us your exact name and address, or the mailing label from your catalog, so that we can be sure to identify you correctly. Because mailings are planned in advance, it may take several weeks for your request to become effective. If, due to human error, you continue to receive unwanted communications, please contact us again and we will make every effort to correct the situation.

Occasionally we provide links on our website to other sites we think you will enjoy. These sites operate independently of LOCAL COAST, Inc. and have established their own privacy and security policies. For the best online experience, we strongly encourage you to review these policies at any site you visit.

Our website is not intended for use by children under the age of 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18.

From time to time, we may use customer information for unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change, we will post these changes on our website. Again, we encourage you to review our Privacy Policy periodically.
